OBJECTIVES AND CONTENTS

Objectives of the Course Unit: This course aims to provide the students with basic knowledge in the context of the development of cinema, important directors, genres and movements.
Contents of the Course Unit: Contents of the course include topics such as historical formation of cinema which could achieve creating a sophisticated language and is an important communication tool, type structure that changes in connection with social structure and change, and movement characteristics.

Relate cinema with other disciplines.
Analyze how daily events are represented in cinema.
Discuss how structural characteristics of country cinemas contribute in meaning making.
Explain basic characteristics of country cinemas emerging in different periods.
