Objectives and Contents

Objectives: The aim of this course is to teach the methods that support decision-making processes in logistics and supply chain management; to develop students' problem-solving and model development skills by introducing decision-making under certainty, uncertainty and risk, qualitative and quantitative analysis techniques, inventory control models, regression, optimization, decision trees and multi-criteria decision-making methods.
Content: This course covers methods and techniques that support decision-making processes in logistics and supply chain management. The course covers qualitative and quantitative decision-making techniques, decision-making approaches under certainty, uncertainty, and risk, decision trees, break-even analysis, regression-based demand forecasting, optimization using graphical analysis, ABC analysis in inventory management, and economic order quantity models. Multi-criteria decision-making methods will also be examined and their relationship to applications in logistics will be explored.
