OBJECTIVES AND CONTENTS

Objectives of the Course Unit: It is to explain the necessary application and theoretical knowledge to make the use of microscope in microbiology and to make the necessary comments as a result of the examinations.
Contents of the Course Unit: Introduction to microbiology, scope and classification, microscopes, tools and devices used in microbiology, structure and physiology of bacteria, environmental factors affecting the growth of microorganisms, bacterial genetics, protein synthesis, genetic changes in bacteria, antimicrobial substances, mechanisms of action of antimicrobial drugs, resistance to antimicrobial substances , the environments in which microorganisms are produced, the substances necessary for the nutrition and reproduction of microorganisms, the classification of the media, the main materials used in the preparation of the media, the preparation and storage of the media, the main media and sowing techniques on which various samples will be cultivated, the evaluation of growth, antibiogram susceptibility tests, dyes and staining methods used in microbiology, gram stain, AB stain, methylene blue, capsule stain, spore stain, fungal stains, virus stains, parasite stains, giemsa stain, examine the movements of microorganisms blood, environmental microbiology, normal flora, blood, sputum, throat, nose, urine, stool, vagina, wound, body fluids sampling, transportation and storage.

Examines the structure of bacteria with a microscope.
Makes dyes and dyeing methods and techniques used in microbiology.
