Aim of the Program
The importance of foot health and care is gradually increasing.
It aims to train health technicians who have the necessary knowledge and skills to protect foot health and prevent possible diseases and can work in collaboration with physicians.
Target of the Program
To educate individuals who have sufficient background on the subjects related to the field of podology and can evaluate the data by using the basic knowledge and skills acquired and develop solutions for the problems.
The aim of this course is to educate professionals who are able to carry out applications related to the field effectively, suitable for multidisciplinary study or having the ability to work individually, and who have the knowledge of a foreign language to follow the innovations in the field.
Career Opportunities
Graduates of the program can work as a ‘Podology Technician' in public and private hospitals.
Orthopedic shoes and other foot / walking related devices and goods producing companies in the production facilities, both sales and management are involved.
Massage and beauty / fitness centers are also available.
Future of the Department
The number of people with foot health problems is increasing in many countries of the world. Therefore, a specific need for expertise has been recognized and podologists are meeting this need. Since the number of graduated podologists in Turkey is very low in the current situation, podologists are a sought-after professional staff. More professionals are needed in foot health and care, and this need is increasing.
