In recent years, significant steps have been taken in Turkey—under the leadership of the Ministry of Health—toward the implementation of telehealth systems. Applications such as the Telemedicine System, Remote Imaging Services, Remote Diabetes Monitoring, and e-Nabiz have been introduced. However, for these systems to be used effectively, safely, and widely, there is a substantial need for mid-level healthcare personnel who are not only proficient in health informatics but also trained in patient communication, digital device usage, and remote healthcare protocols.
The Telehealth Technician Program aims to train technical personnel equipped with the knowledge, skills, and ethical awareness specific to this new and developing field.
Through the Telehealth Technician Program:
Contributions will be made to Turkey’s goals of institutionalizing remote healthcare services,
Support will be provided to bridge the digital divide in healthcare services,
Access to healthcare for rural and elderly populations will be improved,
The workload of healthcare professionals will be optimized through digital support,
A new professional field will be created, offering employment opportunities for young people.
