General Information

Aim of the Program

Department of Interior Architecture and Environmental Design; aims to train interior architects who specialize in interior architecture and human-environment relations, which can develop innovative, original and sustainable new ideas, possible problems and different arrangements of interior and surroundings in design and planning fields as a first step in lifelong learning in four year undergraduate education

 

Target of the Program

Interior Architecture and Environmental Design Department graduates; by the gain of their social and cultural facilities, they will work interdisciplinary with the national and international (public-private sector and voluntary organizations) labour markets. They will work in context of interior and environmental design and application stages, in the basic unit project called as housing and the most complex unit project called as hospital. The main objective of the Department of Interior Architecture and Environmental Design is, to train equipped graduates who work in the subjects of interior and environmental space design, taking into consider of the social life, planning, cost management, work flow organizations and managing the construction.

Career Opportunities

Graduates of the Department of Interior Architecture and Environmental Design; at the end of the second and third year, they begin their first vocational career.   When they graduate, they have the opportunity to work in a wide range of architecture and interior design offices, construction teams and private or governmental institutions. They can make an academic career in areas related to their departments.

To train interior architects who can solve the possible problems of interior space and its environment in the fields of design and planning with innovative, original and sustainable ideas, and who specialize in interior architecture and human-environment relations; It is the aim of the Department of Interior Architecture and Environmental Design, which it continues today and aims to continue in the future. In the future, as it is today, interior architects will continue to be trained with local, regional, national and cultural sensitivity and in accordance with ethical values.

Programmes allowing Horizontal Transfer

Students are admitted to the associate degree and undergraduate degree programs of our university by horizontal transfer within the quota in accordance with “The Regulation on the Principles of Transition between Programs in the Associate and Undergraduate Levels, Double Major, Minor with Credit Transfer in The Council of The Higher Education”. 

Programmes allowing Vertical Transfer

Graduates of vocational school of higher education can continue their undergraduate education for four years if they fulfill the relevant regulations.
