Aim of the Program

This program aims to train experienced, knowledgeable and expert employees in the field of addiction in areas such as counseling, addiction therapy, rehabilitation, and intervention in ethical and forensic issues.

 

Target of the Program

The educational objectives of the addiction psychology master's program are; to acquire basic intervention skills in the field of addiction and to develop the ability to design, maintain and publish research in the field.

 

Career Opportunities

Graduates of this program can continue their doctoral education; or job opportunities in the fields of medicine, nursing, psychology, education and health care, and may be considered for therapy and rehabilitation services.

 

Future of the Department

Throughout human history, people have resorted to various methods to cope with the difficulties they face. Modern person is also faced with various situations that will create stress in his/her life. Sometimes people resort to various coping methods to feel better in the face of distressing situations in their lives. However, when they lose their control over the substance or behavior they resort to, this addiction can seriously harm the person. Especially with the development of technology, it is seen that there is an increase in substances or behaviors that can cause addiction (eg, Internet addiction). In the future, addiction psychology will be of great importance for people who cannot get rid of harmful coping methods in the face of life's difficulties.
