General Information

Aim of the Program

The aim of the program is to train Child Development Experts who can evaluate the mental, language, motor, social, emotional development and self-care skills of children with typical development, special needs, in need of protection and at risk between the ages of 0-18, and provide services to the child, family, educator and society in supporting all development and skill areas.

To be able to use advanced theoretical and practical knowledge / skills in the field of Child Development in the fields of care and education,
Aware of professional responsibilities and committed to ethical values,
To be able to follow scientific researches in the field of Child Development, health and education, technology and policies that direct education,
To be able to define the problems in the field of Child Development and support the production of solutions,

Career Opportunities

Students who graduate from the Department of Child Development can work in public or private institutions and organizations, and can also pursue an academic career. They can work as academic staff in associate, undergraduate and graduate education staff in universities.
They can produce new ideas that are beneficial to children and humanity and can benefit with research studies.
They can design educational, development-supporting materials and patent them. While contributing to the number of Turkish Patents with the patents received, they can also benefit children and humanity by touching tiny hearts after the mass production process.
 
 

Working Places

Child Development graduates;
 
In the Ministry of Health (Hospitals, Public Health, Public Health, Community Health, Family Health, Healthy Life Centers, etc.), making evaluations related to the development of child development services; producing plans, programs and projects and implementing them and working in cooperation with the relevant person and branch to create internal and external cooperation opportunities,
In the Ministry of Family and Social Services (General Directorate of Child Services, Children's Homes, Family Counseling Centers, etc.), the child developer is responsible for determining the developmental levels of children living in the service area and monitoring their development. They carry out professional studies to solve their problems; they prepare and implement programs for children in the center using professional techniques and methods and prepare the necessary materials; Child Developers who will work in children's homes are responsible for carrying out professional studies related to the care and upbringing required for the adaptation of the child admitted to the children's home by the coordination center. They prepare and implement educational programs related to the physical, mental, emotional and social development of each child in line with their age, disability, interests and needs. 
Child Development and Child Development Specialists, provided that they complete the family counseling training program organized by universities, professional associations or chambers or non-governmental or public institutions and in accordance with the specified standards,
- Ministry of National Education (Special Education Institutions and Guidance and Research Centers, private kindergartens, nurseries, kindergartens, etc.),
- Ministry of Justice
- As academic staff in associate, undergraduate and graduate education positions in universities,
- Child and Youth Centers,
- Public Education Centers,
- General Directorate of Security (Child branch directorate/bureau chief etc.),
- Unicef, Ilo and voluntary organizations (NGOs) as project producers, executors and consultants.
- They can find the opportunity to work as consultants in the fields of children's magazines, theaters, toy making in accordance with the development of children.
