Aim of the Program

Software engineering; It is a department that provides theoretical and practical education and training on computer software systems and applications, which are indispensable for the information age. In the department where basic mathematics courses, computer software system analysis, internet applications, mobile applications and cyber security are offered, graduates who can work in companies that design, develop and market software systems in the public and private sectors, industry are given. Being able to theoretically analyze, evaluate and interpret the subjects in the field of Computer Science, apply scientific research methods and information technology applications effectively in their studies, conduct adequate and competent studies in line with the theoretical knowledge gained in the field of Computer Science, To train students who can develop applications. Our mission is to bring in individuals who can express their ideas in at least one foreign language in written and orally, are successful in problem solving, time management, resource management, work discipline and communication skills, have the ability to work individually, and have the ability to work in a team and take responsibility. Program Educational Objectives (PEH/PEO) According to the mission of the Software Engineering program, the following program educational objectives are the career and professional achievements that our graduates are expected to achieve within a few years of graduation: 1. Disciplined reasoning, critical thinking and applied practice to identify, analyze and solve problems apply skills. 2. Communicate effectively, verbally and in writing, to express technical information, ideas and suggestions. 3. Consider the professional, ethical, and social responsibility of engineering technology practices 4. Act effectively, think independently, and work collaboratively in a team environment in a membership or leadership role. 5. Actively participates in professional development, including continuous self-development and lifelong learning. It is to give graduates who have a questioning attitude on the basis of scientific thinking by following scientific journals and publications, adopt the behaviors of understanding, evaluating and participating in social events as a principle within the framework of universal values, adopting the requirements of the philosophy of lifelong learning, having a high level of awareness and civil courage.

Target of the Program

In Software Engineering, where rapidly advancing technology and developments in the field of information technologies are followed closely, the target is; to educate students with the knowledge and equipment to adapt to developments in this field after graduation.

 

 

 

Graduates who have gained the ability to follow the rapidly developing computer technology, think analytically and produce solutions can successfully ensure the continuity of the existing systems in the business world. At the same time, our graduates, who have the ability and knowledge to produce new projects, also put their signature to technologies that will shape the future.

 

 

 

Graduates of the Software Engineering Department also complete their foreign language education. Our graduates, who have the ability to express themselves in at least one foreign language, both in writing and orally, have the self-confidence, knowledge, work discipline and communication skills that demonstrate their abilities.

Programmes allowing Horizontal Transfer

Horizontal transfer is possible to Computer Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Civil Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering and Architecture departments.

Programmes allowing Vertical Transfer

Graduates of associate degree programs in computer science and information technologies may transfer to the Software Engineering Program, provided that they meet the required success criteria in the Vertical Transfer Examination (DGS).
