General Information

Aim of the Program

The purpose of this department is to train qualified technician candidates for maintenance and repair in accordance with the international standards in the aviation industry.

Target of the Program

In accordance with the principles determined by the Council of Higher Education, Department of Aircraft Fuselage and Engine Maintenance aims to provide training in accordance with European Union Standards, SHY / EASA Part-66 Aircraft Maintenance Personnel Regulation and SHY / EASA Part-147 Aircraft Maintenance Training Institutions Regulation.

Within this scope, our department has been approved by the Directorate General of Civil Aviation as "RECOGNIZED SCHOOL".

Career Opportunities

Airframe maintenance technicians can work in factories or in aircraft maintenance workshop attached to the Ministry of Transport. In our country, air travel increases and this area of private sector enterprises in fields of study places airframe technician receives that are also expanding.

Working Places

The graduates work at Turkish Airlines, Turkish Air Force Air Supply and Maintenance Centers, private airline companies, and at the technical departments of other companies operating in the aviation sector.

Programmes allowing Horizontal Transfer

Department of Aircraft Body and Engine Maintenance accepts students with lateral transfer within quotas in accordance with "Regulations Regarding the Transition between Programs at the Higher Education Institutions and Programs under the Bachelor's Degree Program, Double Major, Minor and Inter-Institutional Transfer among the Associate / Undergraduate Programs.
 
However, for the validity of the privileges obtained with the RECOGNIZED SCHOOL certificate, students are required to make a horizontal transfer from the school / department which has the equivalent "RECOGNIZED SCHOOL" certification. In case of horizontal transfers from departments that do not provide this condition, graduates cannot be granted the rights of "RECOGNIZED SCHOOL" privileges.

Programmes allowing Vertical Transfer

Graduates of Vocational Schools can continue their education for four years if they meet the conditions in the related regulations.
 
However, for the validity of the privileges obtained with the RECOGNIZED SCHOOL certificate, students are required to make a vertical transfer from the school / department which has the equivalent "RECOGNIZED SCHOOL" certification. In case of vertical transfers from departments that do not provide this condition, graduates cannot be granted the rights of "RECOGNIZED SCHOOL" privileges.
