KEY LEARNING OUTCOMES OF THE COURSE UNIT (On successful completion of this course unit, students/learners will or will be able to)

Defines and interprets the fundamental concepts, institutions, sources, and theories of International Trade Law (CISG, UNIDROIT Principles, Incoterms, etc.).
It analyzes international agreements governing the functioning of international trade, the role of international organizations, and Turkey's position in these regulations.
Gains the ability to prepare international commercial contracts using model texts; acquires knowledge about the determination of the law applicable to contracts (Conflict of Laws) and regulations such as the Statute.
It examines the basic documents related to transport law, such as delivery terms (Incoterms) and payment methods (letters of credit, etc.), which are practical tools in international trade, and acquires knowledge about their use.
It compares the methods of resolving disputes arising from international commercial contracts (court, arbitration, alternative dispute resolution methods) and evaluates the legal framework related to these methods (international arbitration agreements, International Arbitration Law).
Based on the knowledge acquired, students gain the ability to follow current issues in international trade law, evaluate different opinions, and develop a scientific perspective.
