OBJECTIVES AND CONTENTS

Objectives of the Course Unit: This course aims to provide the students with introduction to communication discipline course and familiarize with basic concepts on communication.
Contents of the Course Unit: Contents of the course include addressing communication concept and explaining functions, basic elements and channels of communication. Interpersonal and mass communication subjects will be studied after the students are shown types of communication under the subjects of verbal, non-verbal, written and visual communication. Historical development of communication tools will be summarized after examining the main communication models. Development of communication in Turkey will also be addressed within scope of the course. Relation of communication with other disciplines, communication research conducted and ethics in communication will create the contents of last weeks.
