OBJECTIVES AND CONTENTS

Objectives of the Course Unit: The aim of the course is to explain the emergence of nationalisms as well as the historical background of nations. It is also aimed to understand and analyse the connections between nationalism and ethnic conflicts.
Contents of the Course Unit: Basic approaches in nationalism theories. The general dynamics of ethnic conflicts and reviews of contemporary ethnic violences.

Explain the historical background of nationalisms and nations.
Students taking this course define the nexus between nationalism and ethnic conflicts.
