OBJECTIVES AND CONTENTS

Objectives of the Course Unit: The aim is to provide information on understanding the responsibilities of nurses in infectious diseases.
Contents of the Course Unit: Infection Occurrence, Isolation Methods in Protection from Infectious Diseases, Hospital Infections, Immunization, Respiratory Tract Infections and Care, Digestive Tract Infections and Care, Skin and Mucosa Infections and Care, Bloodborne Infectious Diseases and Care.

KEY LEARNING OUTCOMES OF THE COURSE UNIT (On successful completion of this course unit, students/learners will or will be able to)

Explains the formation conditions of infection.
Explains the importance of control of infectious diseases.
Relates immunization and vaccination with the importance of these practices in terms of public health.
Analyzes the diagnosis, treatment, complications and nursing care of common infectious diseases according to systems.
Applies nursing care appropriate to the characteristics of the infectious disease.
