OBJECTIVES AND CONTENTS

Objectives of the Course Unit: It is aimed to gain knowledge and skill about the reproductive system in every period of women.
Contents of the Course Unit: Basic Concepts and Indicators Related to Women's Reproductive Health, Role and Functions of Women's Health Nurse, Female and Male Reproductive Organ Anatomy and Physiology, Human Reproductive Physiology and Pregnancy Formation, Gender Discrimination and Reflections on Women's Health, Characteristics of Women Life Stages and Health Needs, Prenatal Period and Care, Follow-up and Examination of Pregnant Women, Education and Counseling for Pregnant and Family, Genetic Counseling and Preconceptional Care, Evaluation of Fetal Health, Risky Conditions and Care in Pregnancy, Normal Birth and Care, Sexual Action Physiology and Lifelong Sexual Health, Sexual Orientation, Sexual Problems and Myths, Gynecological Diseases, Protection and Care of Good and Malignant Formations.

KEY LEARNING OUTCOMES OF THE COURSE UNIT (On successful completion of this course unit, students/learners will or will be able to)

Explains the female and male reproductive system and function according to fertile and infertile periods.
Applies nursing care for normal labor.
Assesses fetal health.
Relates to reproductive organ infection, sexually transmitted infections and gynecological diagnosis-treatment methods.
Practices antenatal care.
Practices the care of mother and newborn in postpartum period.
Practices the first and ongoing care of the newborn.
