OBJECTIVES AND CONTENTS

Objectives of the Course Unit: This course aims to teach students the basic concepts of logistics and supply chain management.
Contents of the Course Unit: Contents of the course include the subjects such as planning and management of logistics functions and supply chain activities. During the course; it will be focused on the introduction to physical distribution and logistics, logistics systems, product and logistics, logistics and supply chain management, order management and customer services, protective packaging and transport systems, principles of inventory management, distribution centres and warehouses, logistics costs, information technologies and electronic logistics, third party logistics services, supplier selection and development, demand management, rapid response, strategic alliances, performance measurements. In addition, it includes the integration of procurement, material management and multi-firm logistics planning.

Define the basic concepts in the field of international logistics and supply chain management.
Develop the efficient logistics and supply chain strategies using appropriate theories, tools and methods.
Prepare the logistics system designs which will support the mission and objectives of the enterprise.

Evaluate critically logistics and supply chain management and applications.
Develop innovative solutions to problems in supply chain management and applications.
