Objectives of the Course Unit: | This course aims to improve aptitude for creating a modern political opinion infrastructure that will be able to analyze the reflections of modern political movements by discussing emergence, development and social effects of modern political movements |
Contents of the Course Unit: | Contents of the course include intellectual and historical bases of contemporary political movements, liberalism, conservatism, socialism and Marxism, fascism, anarchism, social democracy, feminism, fundamentalism, new right and left political movements. |

Explain the basic concepts, assumptions and ideas of the main representatives of modern political ideologies in order to understand the effects of the 19th and 20th centuries on the political life. |
Define the basic subjects and concepts of political movements as in liberalism, conservatism, socialism, nationalism, anarchism, fascism, feminism and fundamentalism. |
Relate political concepts with daily political life. |
Discover social, political and intellectual life of political thinkers. |
Categorize the effects of political thinkers and their intellectual heritage in order to determine their contributions to Western political opinion. |
Relate how normative arguments in political science are formed and justified with periodical events. |
