OBJECTIVES AND CONTENTS

Objectives of the Course Unit: The objective of this course is to show the place of the classical Turkish literature in the history of literature, to indicate the development of Classical Turkish Literature in 17th and 18th centuries, and to help them gain the necessary knowledge and skills to recognize and understand the texts of the classical Turkish literature.
Contents of the Course Unit: Contents of the course include; historical development of Classical Turkish literature, works of classical Turkish literature in 17th and 18th centuries, and the literary understandings of important figures in these centuries.

KEY LEARNING OUTCOMES OF THE COURSE UNIT (On successful completion of this course unit, students/learners will or will be able to)

Starting from the Classical Turkish literature in 17h century, list the important figures until 18th century.
Express the understanding of literature in 17th and 18th centuries with his/her own words.
Question the development of Classical Turkish Literature in 17th and 18th centuries and the changes it passed through.
Compare the literary understandings of important figures in 17th and 18th centuries.
Analyze the Classical Turkish Literature texts between 17th and 18th centuries.
