OBJECTIVES AND CONTENTS

Objectives of the Course Unit: This course aims to introduce the methods of media analysis in accordance with the theoretical basics of media analysis, to gain the ability to create content and to demonstrate the power of media in creating influence.
Contents of the Course Unit: Contents of the course include media, structure of media institutions, power of media in creating influence and types of analysis.

KEY LEARNING OUTCOMES OF THE COURSE UNIT (On successful completion of this course unit, students/learners will or will be able to)

Review the basic concepts of media analysis.
Apply discourse analysis and content analysis through examples.
Connect the relationship between media and power based on current and political events.
Select which analysis type the given 6 examples belong to.
