OBJECTIVES AND CONTENTS |

Objectives of the Course Unit: | The aim of the course is to make students interpret the movements of ideas, ideological breaks and approaches that have shaped the political processes until the last periods of the Ottoman Empire and the establishment of the Turkish Republic, on a historical and theoretical level. |
Contents of the Course Unit: | The content of the course covers the factors that shaped the pre-modern classical Turkish political thought, the intellectual movements that emerged in the modernization period, their ideological effects, their ruptures, the intellectual movements before the Republic, the struggles for power, and the intellectual movements that shaped the foundation of the Republic and affected the political life in the following years. |
