OBJECTIVES AND CONTENTS
Objectives of the Course Unit:	This course aims to analyse transportation, which covers an important part of economic and social life in 21th century, within economic theories.Furthermore, this study aims to provide a systematic understanding of the transportation sector through the lens of economic theory and to examine contemporary issues in transportation policy.
Contents of the Course Unit:	Contents of the course include the subjects such as transportation demand modelling which is within the concept of transportation economics, transportation costs, transportation estimation, current issues on transportation.

KEY LEARNING OUTCOMES OF THE COURSE UNIT (On successful completion of this course unit, students/learners will or will be able to)
Identify basic concepts on transportation economics and interpret transportation economics by using methods and tools of economics.
Capacity to use microeconomic principles, like congestion effects, in analyzing transportation issues.
Evaluate the theoretical problems related to transportation or current issues using welfare economics, benefit cost analysis and similar approaches.
Capacity to analyze and compare policy measures using cost-benefit evaluation tools.
