OBJECTIVES AND CONTENTS

Objectives of the Course Unit: 1. To define, explain and interpret theoretical knowledge in evolutionary psychology 2. To identify and explain human behavioral, emotional and cognitive processes through an evolutionary perspective 3. To evaluate empirical evidence and claims utilizing scientific criteria 4. The skills and abilities to follow advances in evolutionary psychology and other related sciences.
Contents of the Course Unit: This course aims to study the application of the theory of evolution to human behavioral, emotional and cognitive processes. How the process of natural selection shapes human behavior, evolutionary roots of social behavior, cognitive development and evolution, emotions and evolution, physiological and cultural evolution are some of the topics to be covered in this course.
