OBJECTIVES AND CONTENTS

Objectives of the Course Unit: This course aims to provide the students with the basic concepts of statistics, inform them about basic statistical criteria, probability theory, indices and fundamental probability divisions to be applied to appropriate problems.
Contents of the Course Unit: Statistics identifies the past and the present situation and takes the descriptive name when it presents summary information and graphs. Summarizing the data with the help of tables or graphs and reducing it to a single number, such as averages, of a large number of numbers is also applicable to this field. Briefly, summarize and present the information contained in a dataset of descriptive statistics by using numerical and graphical methods.

KEY LEARNING OUTCOMES OF THE COURSE UNIT (On successful completion of this course unit, students/learners will or will be able to)

Explain the basic concepts of statistics.
Discover the methods of collecting data.
Interpret the information about average and variability measures.
Choose the index to use according to the situation.
Calculate the probability calculus.
