OBJECTIVES AND CONTENTS

Objectives of the Course Unit: This course aims to help the students gain an overview of the main problems of Philosophy of Art and the solutions offered by the philosophers, recognize the basic concepts of this discipline of philosophy and the structure of philosophical arguments about the phenomenon of art.
Contents of the Course Unit: Contents of the course include the definition of art, the nature of the work of art, the nature of the artistic creativity, the artistic imagination, the evaluation of the works of art, the relationship between art and affections, the reception of the work of art, aesthetic values and aesthetic judgments.

Knows various philosophical approaches related to art and "beautiful".
Relates the philosophy of art to the other sub-branches of philosophy.
Analyzes the phenomenon of art as a creative, cognitive, affective and social process.
Distinguishs and evaluates the philosophical theories developed on art and art works.
Compares aesthetic judgments and aesthetic values through different aesthetic theories.
