OBJECTIVES AND CONTENTS

Objectives of the Course Unit: This course aims to introduce knowledge regarding basic principles of finance, finance, financing concepts and processes systematically and bring in the rational decision-making skill by using this knowledge and making financial analysis and plans.
Contents of the Course Unit: Contents of the course include basis of financial management, introduction to financial markets, financial function in business organization, time value of money, determination of interest rates and term structure of interest rates, definition and measurement of risk and return concepts, risk dispersion and capital asset pricing model, bond market, share market, opportunity and risks in international financial management, parity exchange rate in international financial management, return measurement of exchange rate, risk and management, general revision.

KEY LEARNING OUTCOMES OF THE COURSE UNIT (On successful completion of this course unit, students/learners will or will be able to)

Define concepts and processes in finance, financing, financial management.
Interpret financial accounts, balance sheets and funds flow statements by benefiting from practical examples.
Classify financial sources, liquidity, receivables; according to date and sources.
Apply simple and compound interest and annuity computation over example questions provided to them.
Match the time value of money and market interest determinants after evaluation.
Organize the financial management resolutions in the matter of certainty and uncertainty by evaluating the liquidity, activity, profitability ratios of the business organization.
