OBJECTIVES AND CONTENTS

Objectives of the Course Unit: This course aims to provide the students with the ability to analyze and evaluate the decision-making mechanism of economic units as well as the theory and structure of macroeconomics, the concepts, functions, conditions and working policies of economic policies.
Contents of the Course Unit: Contents of the course include the subjects such as national income and calculation methods, methods of calculation of unemployment and inflation, economic growth, Keynesian economics and classical economics.

KEY LEARNING OUTCOMES OF THE COURSE UNIT (On successful completion of this course unit, students/learners will or will be able to)

Explain the basic concepts and assumptions in macroeconomics.
Explain the equilibrium of an economy by using the aggregate demand and aggregate supply model.
Explain the fiscal policies including expansionary and contractionary policies.
Illustrate how monetary policy affects the GDP and interest rates in the structure of macroeconomic theories.
Analyze the relationship between variables such as national income, money and interest in open and closed economies.
