OBJECTIVES AND CONTENTS

Objectives of the Course Unit: The objective of this course is to help students understand the manifestations of the Western literary movements in Turkish literature, the conditions and forms of literary movements, the various periods and movements in the Contemporary Turkish Literature, the literary movement, the literary community, literary school, the socio-cultural, political and economic conditions affecting the formation processes of literary movements.

Distinguish the manifestations of Western literary movements in Turkish literature.
Examine the formation conditions and manifestations of literary movements on sample texts.
Interpret the movements that were effective in various periods of new Turkish literature.
Relate the similar and different characteristics of the literary movements, the literary community and the literary school.
Assess the historical development processes of sociocultural, political and economic conditions affecting the formation processes of literary movements.
