Objectives of the Course Unit: | Objective of the course is to help students understand the foundation of Istanbul and its development process, historical, architectural, cultural and social aspects of Istanbul; similarities and differences between city, culture and architectural structures, the beginning of modern urbanization in Turkey, literary genre developed in the city environment, modernization movements in Turkey. |
