OBJECTIVES AND CONTENTS

Objectives of the Course Unit: This course aims to improve the aptitude for financing skills to be used in foreign trade transactions by acquainting them with monetary, non-cash and other financial sources in import and export transactions.
Contents of the Course Unit: Contents of the course include foreign trade, import, export and custom concepts, foreign currency market, foreign exchange rate policy, payment methods in foreign trade, examples of practices in payment methods in foreign trade, financing of import and export, difference between export credits and other commercial credits, Eximbank credits, buyer's credits, Leasing practices, operation of factoring and forfaiting, securitization and small and Medium Industry Development Organization export standby credits.

KEY LEARNING OUTCOMES OF THE COURSE UNIT (On successful completion of this course unit, students/learners will or will be able to)

List monetary and non-cash credits in foreign and domestic area for foreign trade transactions on the basis of legislation provisions
Classify sources of finance in export in accordance with the date, export process and source of the finance
Compare other financing methods as in factoring, forfaiting, leasing by exemplifying them
List risks originated from exchange rate and precautions to be taken on the basis of current economic and political developments
Assess sectors prioritized in export by the state on the basis of currently applied policies.
