OBJECTIVES AND CONTENTS |

Objectives of the Course Unit: | This course aims to explain the intersection points of communication and sociology, to introduce the basic concepts and to support the development of research and discussion skills of the student. |
Contents of the Course Unit: | Contents of the course include the subjects as in analysis of social order, definition of basic sociological approaches, explanation of the Frankfurt School, discussion of Critical Theory, explanation of the concept of Cultural Industry, explanation of the Chicago School, explanation of the Birmingham School, comparison of Chicago, Birmingham and Frankfurt schools, interpretation of the relationship between media and society. |
