OBJECTIVES AND CONTENTS

Objectives of the Course Unit: This course aims to explain how the perception of social gender, which is a socio-cultural production, together with its definition and grasping, is spread through communication channels.
Contents of the Course Unit: Contents of the course include defining the concepts of gender and social gender and examining the historical change, feminist theories and gender in communication language.

KEY LEARNING OUTCOMES OF THE COURSE UNIT (On successful completion of this course unit, students/learners will or will be able to)

Define the concept of social gender.
Locate the social perception created by patriarchal discourse through media mediums.
Examine the relationship between the roles by telling the roles of gender in social dimension.
Explain what are the effects of communication tolls in creating and spreading social gender.
