OBJECTIVES AND CONTENTS

Objectives of the Course Unit: The objective course is to provide students to gain the knowledge to discuss the causes of potential problems related to recreational activities planned and implemented by local governments and to examine the content and implementation processes of recreation services performed in local governments.
Contents of the Course Unit: The content of the course includes; Local government concept and recreation, Reasons of existence of local governments and location of recreation, Municipalities organs, establishment, Municipalities' duties, and responsibility of public recreation, Special provincial administrations organs, establishment, Special provincial administrations duties and public recreation responsibility, Voluntary participation in local administrations and recreation services, Metropolitan municipalities bodies, establishment, Metropolitan municipalities duties and accountability for public recreation, Metropolitan municipalities recreation services and coordination, Problem sharing between central administration and local governments, Problems regarding planning and implementation of recreation services in local governments, Reform discussions in local governments and local governments in the world and covers recreation services.

Defines the basic concepts of local government and recreation.
Explains the place and importance of recreation in local governments.
Explain the duties and responsibilities of local administrations, Municipalities, and individual provincial administrative bodies.
Discusses the causes of possible problems regarding recreational activities planned and implemented by local administrations.
Examines the content and application processes of recreation services performed in local governments.
