OBJECTIVES AND CONTENTS |

Objectives of the Course Unit: | To teach differences and similarities between qualitative and quantitative research; To give the abilities of qualitative and quantitative data collection, analysis, interpretation, and suggestion to the students; To explain the qualitative data collection methods and techniques by using appropriate theories; To present package programs such as Nvivo in the analysis of qualitative data and to develop the skill of efficiently use of these programs; To give the abilitiies to use statistical methods, to choose correct method, to determine, to interpret. |
Contents of the Course Unit: | The importance of quantitative and qualitative data in data types; differences and similarities between qualitative and quantitative data; quantitative and qualitative data types and data collection techniques and tools, sampling and sampling distributions in quantitative and qualitative research; statistical interpretation; Small Sample Theory; in a quantitative research, use of SPSS and in a qualitative research, use of Nvivo; Test of Hypothesis; Chi-square Test; Non-parametric test; regression and correlation; the analysis of time sequences; variance analysis; index |
