OBJECTIVES AND CONTENTS |

Objectives of the Course Unit: | The aim of this course is to inform the students about the development of cinema in the historical process. Historical events and phenomena that have taken place since the beginning of cinema until today; theorists, directors, genres and their evolution will be discussed in a chronological process. |
Contents of the Course Unit: | The course will begin with an overview of the history of cinema; Lumiere Brothers, Charlie Chaplin, Vittorio De Sica, Alfred Hitchcock, Lars Von Trier, Andre Bazin, Akira Kurosawa films and cinema conceptions of masters, Hollywood cinema, European cinema, characteristics of World Cinema, Western, Police, Comedy and so on. Genres, New Cinema, New Wave, New Realism, Avantgarde cinema, preparation of Turkish Cinema and the period of theater actors in our country. |
