OBJECTIVES AND CONTENTS

Objectives of the Course Unit: This course aims to provide students with information about the history of Western Civilization and its cultural elements, the history and development of English and Turkish.
Contents of the Course Unit: This course includes language and culture, translation and language, English as a world language, the history of Turkish and its development and features, Roman and Greek civilizations, Byzantine civilization, the emergence and effects of the Renaissance, the age of explorers, overseas voyages and their consequences, the industrial revolution, technological developments. reflections, the importance of English today and its political, economic and social reasons.
