OBJECTIVES AND CONTENTS

Objectives of the Course Unit: The aim of the course is to enable students to know the definition and types of brokerage, to recognise the types of ship chartering and the documents used, to know how to prepare a freight offer and the issues to be considered at the stages and to make demurrage & dispatch calculations
Contents of the Course Unit: Parties in Carriage, charterer, shipowner, broker, agent, shipowner, shipper, consignee, consignee, consignor, consignee units, basic concepts related to the responsibilities of the parties, the role and responsibilities of the broker, Bill of Lading, types of bills of lading, Freight, Freight Terms, Freight contract terms and contents, Loading Order, Delivery Order, Manifesto, Chartering, Ship Chartering, Ship Chartering, Ship Chartering Types, Ship Chartering Parties, Parts of Charter Party, Additional Clauses and Features, Limitations and Conditions in Ship Chartering. Loading and Unloading Time in Ship Chartering, Terms and Abbreviations of Ship Chartering, Correspondence Technique of Carriage Contracts, Estimated Calculation of Expeditionary Ship Connections, Line Connections, Costs to the Parties in Ship Chartering, Factors in Ship Chartering, Port in Ship Chartering, Tonnage Demand, Meeting Tonnage Demand in Maritime Transport and Ship Type Selection Technique, Tonnage Demand Meeting Technique, Costs and Freight Calculation - Estimated Voyage Calculations, Ship Finding Studies.
