OBJECTIVES AND CONTENTS

Objectives of the Course Unit: The aim of this course is to examine the influence of social structure, culture, social institutions and social change on social relations.
Contents of the Course Unit: Sociological view, sociological research, sociological theories and methods, globalization, social change.

KEY LEARNING OUTCOMES OF THE COURSE UNIT (On successful completion of this course unit, students/learners will or will be able to)

Assess the social events and facts in a general sociological point of view.
Explains the historical development of sociological thought.
Compares the general characteristics of traditional and modern sociological theories.
Interprets the interrelationships between individuals, groups and society.
Interprets the impact of social institutions on individuls and groups behaviour.
Explains the general characterstics of sociological methods.
Develops multi-dimensional perspective on basic social institutions and relationship between them.
