OBJECTIVES AND CONTENTS

Objectives of the Course Unit: Within the framework of the basic principles, concepts and theories of development, it is aimed to gain knowledge and attitudes about the evaluation of different developmental areas and developmental progress in these areas in early childhood.
Contents of the Course Unit: Theories of development, basic concepts and principles of development, cognitive development, physical-motor development, language development, emotional and sexual development, social development and moral development according to age periods.

Compares historical, evolutionary, normative perspectives interpreting developmental psychology.
Studies the developmental progression of adolescence according to different developmental areas through case studies.
Studies the developmental progression of early childhood according to different areas of development through case studies.
Selects the appropriate method for developmental psychology research.
Separates developmental theories according to their basic assumptions.
Explain the basic principles of developmental psychology.
Evaluates the controversial issues of developmental psychology.
