OBJECTIVES AND CONTENTS

Objectives of the Course Unit: The aim of the course is provide students with knowledge and skills related to child health and diseases, immune system, explaining the characteristics of healthy and sick children, classifying common infectious diseases and general symptoms in children, arranging measures to protect child health, school and its environment.
Contents of the Course Unit: Basic concepts of health and disease, Health and its importance, Factors affecting health, Factors that may affect child health before, during and after birth, The importance given by the society to child health, Protection measures against diseases, Immune system and vaccination schedule, Recognizing the characteristics of the sick child. Infectious diseases common in children aged 6 years.

Explains the definition of health, factors affecting the healthy development of the child and the immune system.
Explains common infectious diseases and general symptoms in children.
Identifies measures related to the school and its environment that protect child health.
