OBJECTIVES AND CONTENTS

Objectives of the Course Unit: To gain the skills that will help physiotherapy and rehabilitation studies with considering the psycho-social problems of who fall into a negative situation about cognitive, sensory or physical aspects.
Contents of the Course Unit: Introduction to psychosocial rehabilitation, post-accident psychosocial rehabilitation, stress and post-traumatic stress syndrome, depression and coping strategies, psychosocial rehabilitation in the visually impaired, psychosocial rehabilitation in the hearing impaired, psychosocial rehabilitation in physically disabled people, psychosocial rehabilitation in disabled children and their families, psychosocial rehabilitation in chronic diseases

KEY LEARNING OUTCOMES OF THE COURSE UNIT (On successful completion of this course unit, students/learners will or will be able to)

Explains the basic concepts of psychosocial rehabilitation.
Arrange the psychosocial process and adaptation stages, stress and post-traumatic stress disorders experienced after the accident and the problems seen after traumatic injuries.
Assess psychosocial rehabilitation problems in neurological diseases, progressive chronic diseases, geriatric individuals.
Assess the psycho-social processes of physically disabled people, families with handicapped children, visually impaired and hearing-impaired people.
