OBJECTIVES AND CONTENTS |
Objectives of the Course Unit: |
The aim of the course is to explain the structure of the nervous system, the electrical and chemical mechanisms of neural function, the basic organization of the nervous system, its sections, and the basic mechanisms of the neurophysiological diagnostic methods. |
Contents of the Course Unit: |
Introduced to neurophysiology, cerebrospinal fluid, brain blood circulation, the hypothalamus, the autonomic nervous system, the brain stem reticular formation, cranial nerves, sensory pathways, thalamus, sensory cortex, pain, nervous system testing methods, movement and posture control, motor roads, the motor cortex, basal ganglia , cerebellum, motor coordination, sensory, limbic system, the learning memory, sleep physiology will be described. |

Explains the basic structure of the neuron. |
Explains the working mechanism of synapse. |
Explains the functioning of the specific parts of the Central Nervous System. |
Relates the basic components of the auditory system to each other. |
Explain the hearing mechanism with its anatomical and physiological principles. |
Revises the relationships between different systems in terms of speech perception and speech production. |
It predicts the basic physiological mechanisms of disorders in speech processes. |
Relates hearing and balance problems with physiological mechanisms. |
