Objectives of the Course Unit: | With this course, students are expected to understand the typical system arrangements and to learn the electronic indicator system. |
Contents of the Course Unit: | Typical system arrangements and cockpit layout of electronic display systems, Working principle of common types of displays used in modern aircraft, Cathode Ray Tubes, Light Emitting Diode Screens and Liquid Crystal Screens, Special treatment for components sensitive to electrostatic discharges, Antistatic protection of risks and possible damage, components and personnel Awareness about typical electronic / digital aircraft systems and related BITE (Internal Test Equipment): ECAM-Electronic Central Aircraft Monitor EFIS-Electronic Flight Indicator System, typical electronic / digital aircraft systems and related BITE General Regulation on Internal Test Equipments: ACARS-ARINC Communication and Addressing and Recording System EICAS Engine Indicator and Team Alert System, general electronic / digital aircraft systems and related BITE (Internal Test Equipments) Overview: FMS - Flight Management System, General arrangement of typical electronic / digital aircraft systems and related BITE (Built-in Test Equipment): IRS-Inertial Navigation / Reference System; FBW-electronically controlled flight / electronic flight control systems (fly-by-wire); GPS-Global Positioning System, Typical Electronic / digital aircraft systems and related BITE general arrangement: TCAS-Traffic Warning and Collision Prevention System; Integrated Modular Avionics; Cab Systems, Information Systems. |
