OBJECTIVES AND CONTENTS

Objectives of the Course Unit: To understand the images, which are a part of visual culture, with their historical, theoretical and pedagogical dimensions, and at the same time to establish the connection between visual culture concepts and history from today's perspective.
Contents of the Course Unit: The history of visual culture is grasped conceptually and theoretically. This insight provides tools to analyze visual cultural products, and these tools help to look at visual culture critically. Based on this in the course, visual products will be discussed multidimensionally with examples from different mediums with their phenomenological, technological and cultural dimensions.

KEY LEARNING OUTCOMES OF THE COURSE UNIT (On successful completion of this course unit, students/learners will or will be able to)

Learns what visual culture means, its importance and its scope. Learns to read the visual. Can question the current by establishing the connection between visual culture concepts and visual culture history. Learns visual literacy. Learns the relationship between reality and representation through visual sources.
