OBJECTIVES AND CONTENTS

Objectives of the Course Unit: This course aims to provide the students with the basic knowledge and skills to design the relationship between memory and documentary cinema and to design their own documentary projects.
Contents of the Course Unit: Contents of the course include topics such as the history of documentary film, main approaches to documentary film, main documentary genres, documentaries such as historical, political, propaganda, mockumentary, docudrama, the relationship between memory and documentary, and counter-memories.

Discuss reality and documentary cinema relation.
Explain documentary cinema types and forms.
Evaluate documentary cinema development in Turkey.
Compare documentarian responsibility and the problem of objectivity in documentary.
