OBJECTIVES AND CONTENTS

Objectives of the Course Unit: Students are expected to acquire the knowledge and experience necessary to analyze and translate accurately and meaningfully selected texts in a wide range of subjects such as economics, politics, popular science and lifestyle magazines.
Contents of the Course Unit: News articles, headlines, introductions, pyramid and inverted pyramid news structures and translation activities; press history technological developments in the media.

Students learn to translate printed and written news texts and to find solutions to the problems encountered in the translation process.
