OBJECTIVES AND CONTENTS

Objectives of the Course Unit: This course aims to enable students to understand the basic concepts of production management (production processes, productivity, product design, operations strategy in global environment, total quality management, business process strategy, place of establishment, workplace layout, inventory management, etc.) and development processes.
Contents of the Course Unit: Contents of the course include the subjects such as production systems and product design, choosing place of establishment, company size, workplace layout, work analysis, production planning, stock management and quality control.

KEY LEARNING OUTCOMES OF THE COURSE UNIT (On successful completion of this course unit, students/learners will or will be able to)

Determine effective stock policies.
Build an efficient estimate of demand using simple forecasting techniques.
Interpret the relations between production plans and capacity plans.
Develop production planning methods for different production targets.
Apply the production strategies.
Identify the critical variables for increasing efficiency.
Explain the concepts of human resources and job design associating them with the competitive environment.
