| Objectives: | The aim is to teach the fundamental concepts of forensic sciences and forensic medicine; to impart the knowledge and skills required for the examination, scene investigation, autopsy, identification, and assessment of postmortem changes in death cases; and to ensure that forensic medicine technicians perform their professional duties in accordance with scientific and ethical principles. |
| Content: | This course covers the definitions of forensic sciences and forensic medicine; the duties and responsibilities of forensic medicine technicians; scene investigation and autopsies in death cases; death, postmortem changes, and the determination of the postmortem interval; sudden unexpected deaths; pediatric deaths; types of asphyxia and asphyxia-related deaths; and deaths due to drowning. |
