Objectives and Contents

Objectives: The aim of this course is to enable students to acquire the skills to take patient histories, understand basic movement principles, perform posture and anthropometric assessments, and measure joint range of motion and muscle strength. Students are expected to systematically apply the clinical assessment process and interpret the findings.
Content: This course covers the fundamental topics related to the evaluation process in physiotherapy. The course content includes introduction, patient history, and basic principles of movement, posture analysis, muscle shortening tests, assessment of flexibility, hypermobility assessment, assessment of trunk muscle strength, assessment of upper extremity muscle strength, assessment of lower extremity muscle strength, assessment of normal range of motion of the cervical region, assessment of normal range of motion of the upper extremity, assessment of normal range of motion of the lower extremity, assessment of range of motion of the trunk, and anthropometric measurements. During the course, theoretical knowledge and clinical evaluation approaches are addressed together.
