OBJECTIVES AND CONTENTS

Objectives of the Course Unit: The aim of this course is to enable students to acquire the skills to take patient histories, understand basic movement principles, perform posture and anthropometric assessments, and measure joint range of motion and muscle strength. Students are expected to systematically apply the clinical assessment process and interpret the findings.
Contents of the Course Unit: This course covers patient history taking, basic movement principles, anatomical axes and planes. Anterior, lateral, and posterior posture analyses are performed, along with assessments of shortness, flexibility, and anthropometric evaluations. Range of motion assessments in the upper and lower extremities are conducted, and manual muscle testing methods targeting the core, upper extremities, lower extremities, cervical region, and facial muscles are examined.

KEY LEARNING OUTCOMES OF THE COURSE UNIT (On successful completion of this course unit, students/learners will or will be able to)

Takes patient history and explains basic movement principles.
Defines anatomical axes and planes.
Applies anterior, lateral, and posterior posture analyses.
Evaluates range of motion and muscle strength in the upper and lower extremities.
Interprets results of manual muscle testing, flexibility, and anthropometric measurements.
