| Objectives: | The aim of this course is to provide an understanding of biological systems within the framework of physical principles and to teach the fundamental mechanisms of biophysical processes such as the cell membrane, nerve conduction, muscle contraction, circulation, sensory systems, radiation, and ultrasound. |
| Content: | Fundamental concepts of molecular biophysics; physical properties of body fluids; cell membrane and membrane transport; intercellular communication; action potential and synaptic transmission; muscle biophysics; the biophysics of sensory and circulatory systems; the effects of electrical currents on tissues; radiation biophysics and its biological effects; and the medical applications of sound and ultrasound. |
